I woke up at 6:30 on Christmas Day. I was THAT excited for presents and sausage sandwhiches and chocolate for breakfast. Yes, I am indeed, a big kid.
Poor Chris, unknown to me, had a plan that he needed to set up in the livingroom. For this he needed me to be asleep. And instead I was awake, bouncing on the bed and sighing loudly in protest about not being allowed to unwrap all my presents like NOW. Eventually he persuaded me back to land of nod, snuck out of our bedroom and set up the cutest litte proposal.

And then ladies and gentlemen, I almost missed it. I kid you not. I am literally the most oblivious person on the planet.
He set up tea lights, candles, tree lights, made it look wonderfully romantic as he came in behind me (heart probably thumping I'd like to point out) and what did I do? Glance at the candles and then head straight for the Christmas tree. I'm not bright, have I mentioned that?
After a few nudges and a gentle push in the right direction, I noticed the ring box. Was it now? Was this the point I burst into tears, started imagining the big white dress?
Um, not exactly.
Me: "Oh, what is it"
*moves towards presents as its Christmas day and i'm an impatient child*
Chris: "It's a will you marry me ring"
Me: *blinks* "A what?"
Chris: "A will you marry me ring"
Me: "Really?"
Chris: "Yes, really"
Me: "For real? Or are you just teasing?"
Chris: *looking both confused and bemused" "Yes, for real"
Me: "Yes, ok then, cool"
.
.
.
Me: "So...are you going to get on one knee then"
Chris: *mustering all the patience he has as he realises too late he is in fact asking a complete and total idiot to marry him" "Yes, of course"
"Drop to one knee"
Chris: "Laura, will you marry me"
Me: "Yes!"
*Huge smoochy hug"
Me: "Chris"
Chris: "Yes my love?"
Me: "....can I have a sausage sandwich now please?"
Chris: "Sigh"

I'm over the moon happy, if a little stunned still.
People keep saying "Congratulations!!!" and I do have to take a couple of seconds to work out why, i'm sure i'll get used to it soon!
And, to my even patient fiancé, I love you and I can't wait to start this next part of our adventure with you.
