My lovely other half, Chris, is sound engineer. This means I get to spend a lot of time in lovely locations listening to awesome bands!
One of those awesome bands is Where's Martin, these guys are from the little village of Eckington and perform the most amazing covers. I recently got to travel to Mevagissey, Cornwall with them and spent the weekend alternating between sunbathing, snapping beautiful photos and listening to some amazing live music.

We packed an awful lot of fun and food into this weekend, so i'm going to break this post up into three parts, the music, the place and the band themselves.
1) The Music
I saw some absolutely amazing bands! The first night we were invited as guests to the Charlestown Regatta Rocks festival, it was super lovely of them to give me a complimentary wrist band as I was assisting the band. Sponsored by Rattler, this cider fulled regatta was packed full of laughs. I must admit, I was originally taken aback that there were only three bands on as i'm used to bigger feeling festivals but I was proved wrong. The bands they had really made a party of it and it didn't feel like they were trying to shove too many acts into one small space.
Obviously, i'm biased, but Where's Martin were my favourite band. I've seen these guys loads of times but this gig really showed me a different side to them. They had a large crowd who in the space of a set they got from relaxing on the grass to up and dancing within a few songs. The other bands also rocked, I loved the Irish beats and earthy lyrics of the last band that was on. As this was a few weekends ago I must admit i've forgotten the name of them! If I find out i'll add it in with a link to their music.
The lights were amazing, the music sounded awesome, the food was plentiful and the regatta just had a great feeling about it. If you are ever in the area when it's on i'd highly recommend it.

Lucky for me my musical weekend didn't end here, Where's Martin had another gig at a venue called Simply Jude's which is owned by a very dear friend. This was a great little space as it was a really intimate gig. For me music can have a really different "feeling" even when its the same band. Where's Martin own the stage where ever they perform, but their gig at Jude's is my favourite so far. We didn't stop laughing all night, my cheeks hurt from smiling and I can honestly say I had no voice left the next day! A HUGE thankyou to Jude for letting us take over her restaurant for the evening with our Elvis interludes, our general nuttiness and our utterly bonkers dancing.
2) the Place
Mevagissey is a beautiful place, honestly it is a simply stunning place to go. The harbour is beautiful, the restaurants are amazing and the shops were....well lets say my purse came back a hell of a lot lighter then when I left.
Foodwise, for a perfect breakfast head to the Riverstreet Cafe. The fry up here is second to non and, as weird as it sounds, they serve the most amazing apple juice. For drinkies with a view we tended to head to the Sharksfin, this place is honestly beautiful and I wish i'd spent a little less time sipping drinks and a bit more time snapping cheeky instagram snaps but hey, I guess that just means you'll have to go and see for yourself!

3) The Band Themselves
AKA Where's Martin AKA my dear friends AKA one of the best bunch of people I know.
Like I said at the beginning, I get to spend a lot of time with a lot of bands. Sometimes the bands are not so awesome but these guys are pretty much top of my awesome list. Always kind, always generous and always amazingly good fun. I get to hang around with some lovely people and listen to some great music, what more can I ask for?
This bunch of musical buddies play a lot of local gigs and festivals, check them out if you can, and every year they get to travel to Meva and share their musical talents. They perform covers with their own flair, they dip into every genre you can think of and rock it every time. Personal favourite of mine, Does Your Mother know, Yes people, they even cover Abba!
So, to break it down, we have:
The Lungs

This beautiful blond bombshell can belt out any name you care to mention and would look stunning in a bin bag.
The Sticks
The Sticks
Where is Martin I hear you ask? Why he's at the back bashing up a storm on his drum kit! Can also summon up a wonderful inner Elvis and rock the mic when needed.
The Strings
The Strings
The lovely long legged Ed ripping up the strings, this man can storm out a solo and his dancing to Maddness is simply fabulous.
Strings and Additional Vocals
Strings and Additional Vocals
The wonderful and funny Stu! This man has no end of talents including guitar, the ability to organise the rabble (us!) and keeping the band van in tip top condition.
The Ace of Bass
The Ace of Bass
The lovely darling Tim who gives the worlds BEST hugs. An amazing bass player, an excellent band mate and a fantastic friend.
Sax and Keys
Sax and Keys
Before Pat I had never met a female sax player i've ever met and she always ROCKS IT! Her rendition of One Step Beyond is always a crowd pleaser and my Mums personal favourite. Having her and her musical talents there enables them to perform a greater range of sings and really gives this band an edge.
And that's it, the whole Where's Martin crew! Add them on social media and check them out when you can, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Thankyou sooooo much for allowing me to come with you and share this amazing weekend, I hope you love the photos as much as I loved taking them :)
