Proof that I have literally no self control around makeup and beauty products. Enjoy!
1) Not Taking Enough Money
Barcelona is a really expensive city with a lot to do. We budgeted 50-60 euros a day (which, tbf, is our daily budget for most big cities we visit) and it was totally not enough. If you had three meals a day you'd probably burn through most of it. Expect to be paying between 12 and 35 euros for each attraction. Also be prepared for add on costs. Sure, the Guadi park is free, but if you want to get up close to the art or go the museum when inside be ready to get your wallet out. Some of my favorite products with my favorite person :) A HUGE thankyou to Lush Worcester for inviting me to the Christmas product launch again! For me it marks the start of all things cosy and Christmasy, I officially love it!
You may also notice that these photos are considerably better than normal, that because I took my lovely friend Natalie who is my blog proof reader and general "keep Laura on track person". (Didn't know I have an official pre-reader did ya? Well, I do!). For one night only she also became blog photographer, thankyou sweetie, the pictures are amazing. Right, lets get down to business (if you didn't mentally add "to defeat the Huns" then shame on you). I got to see, touch and smell this years Christmas range the night before it went on sale and generally gush over it all, which I did gleefully. WORCESTER FINALLY HAVE A COMIC CON!!
*cough* I mean; Worcester has finally had the wonderfulness that is Comic Con come to it's wonderful city and I was a smidge excited about that. I've had my ticket booked for this for months and honestly I was like a toddler on blue smarties before we got in there. It didn't let me down. Held at the Worcester Sports Arena (the big gold building that is not the Hive for fellow Worcester peeps ;) ), tickets were only £10 and it was super easy to get to. Hats off to the organisers, the whole thing ran super smoothly. The line was all the way around the building but the whole thing only took mins to get in, i've been to a few of these things so i'm always prepared to wait. It was a nice surprise to be whooshed inside! My lovely other half, Chris, is sound engineer. This means I get to spend a lot of time in lovely locations listening to awesome bands!
One of those awesome bands is Where's Martin, these guys are from the little village of Eckington and perform the most amazing covers. I recently got to travel to Mevagissey, Cornwall with them and spent the weekend alternating between sunbathing, snapping beautiful photos and listening to some amazing live music. Ahhhhh Nozzers you beautiful festival!!
Nozstock is a festival in Bromyard, just on the edge of Hereford. The festival is on a working farm in a beautiful valley with flippin' stunning views. The team at Nozstock give you a theme every year too with a costume competition and corresponding fun, this years theme was Wonders of the Ancient World (think Greeks, Romans and Egyptians). A friend even when dressed as a pyramid, sh'e a legend! She looked fab, put my toga to shame! The festival itself is to me perfectly sized, it isn't too huge, i'm always slightly put off the by the sheer size of places like Glastonbury but Noz is just the right size of having tonnes to do but not being miles between everything, but nothing feels cramped. As well as three stages there is Bantam of the Opera, the comedy tent, the cinema tent and a hidden nightclub. Trust me, there are many ways too fill the day! Here's my personal top five from the weekend: After years of saying we finally did it and went to DUBLIN!
It was everything we'd hoped for and twice beautiful. We went for the weekend, we flew late on the Friday night and came back on the Sunday evening. We flew from Birmingham with Aer Lingus and they were honestly one of the nicest airlines we've ever flown with. Obviously the plane wasn't super fancy but as you are on there for barely an hour it doesn't make much difference! I could write about this amazing city for hours and you'd all nod off after a few sentences, so here are my top three highlights from the weekend; |
